„Rīgas satiksme” calls on students to extend their status entitling to fare discount
For students to keep on buying tickets in public transport with discounts, „Rīgas satiksme” calls on them to check the date until their status is valid and extend it until October 15, when it expires for a majority of students.
“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that students shall extend the status which gives them the right to pay a reduced fare twice a year – in autumn and in winter. This status is granted for the validity period of the student’s card. After the expiry of the status students will no longer be able to buy tickets with discount. To avoid unpleasant situations, „Rīgas satiksme” calls on students to extend their status as soon as possible!
Students who continue to study in a higher education institution can extend their status in two ways:
By submitting a request to extend the status via the higher education institution’s information system (via LUIS, ORTUS, business higher school „Turība” and Bank higher school’s information systems). Having received a confirmation, the student shall go to one of „Rīgas satiksme” e-ticket vending machines (except those in low-floor trams) and insert the e-ticket, which will be extended automatically;
By submitting a request to one of „Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres. The student shall have a valid student’s card, an ISIC card issued for the current academic year or a reference from the educational institution, as well as an ID document.
